Enid college In 1931 Enid, the daughter (left - photos taken from school group photos), appears to have been attending William Chrisman High School in Independence, Missouri, taking a cookery course as one option. In about 1935 the family moved to Warrensburg, Johnson, Missouri.

Enid (senior) started suffering from high blood pressure but the attack of oedema that killed her in the early hours of 29 March 1940 came out of the blue; apparently it was the result of arteriosclerosis.

Enid grave Enid was buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Warrensburg, Johnson County, Missouri. Her sudden death came just as the 1940 census was being enumerated and it would appear that the young Enid M Owen was listed twice, perhaps because she unexpectedly returned home to be with her father. She is listed with her father in Warrensburg, he having no occupation and her occupation as being a servant with a private family. She is also listed about 15 miles away in Chilhowee, Johnson, Missouri, living alone and with no occupation; all other personal details are consistent and that record says that she had been living in a small community elsewhere in Johnson in 1935 (presumably this would have been Warrensburg); in both cases Edith was twenty-four.

Arthur died in Boone, Missouri in 1966. I do not know what became of his daughter.
