Dolgellau map

In 1852 Isabel Owen's first husband, John Roberts, was living at Corris.

In 1864, at the time of the birth of Isabel's daughter Victoria Bennett she and her children were living at Ty’r Allt, Llwyngwril, on the west coast of North Wales and at the southern end of Barmouth Bay.

Llwyngwril is almost ten miles from Corris but much further by road as a ridge of the Snowdonia range separates Corris from this part of the coast.

In the early 20th century John Robert Conway (JRC) Fitzgerald Day ran a brewery in Dolgelly (now called Dolgellau); I believe his brother-in-law Edwin Augustus Owen later ran a hotel in or near Dolgelly.
