James Owen of Penrhos

and his descendants

(Oswald James) Morgan Owen (1915-1976)

Oswald and May Owen's son (Oswald James) Morgan Owen, Known as 'Morgan', was born on 14 February 1915 and christened at St Luke, Shepherds Bush. The Electoral Register shows Morgan was still living with his parents between 1937 and 1939. Official records began listing him as 'James Morgan Owen' and he married Joan E Coomes in 1939 [Brentford 1939, 3rd qt]; she had been born in Newham in 1918 [W Ham 1918, 1st qt]. On the 1939 Register Morgan, by then married (the record below his name is 'closed') was lodging in Barnstaple, Devon, and was an "Assistant Dep. Manager, Transport Goods, Railway SWn? Company"; his mother had relations living in that area, one of whom had lived with the Owen family in Acton for a while.

Morgan and Joan's first son's birth was registered in Brentford but they subsequently lived at 51 Princes Gardens, Acton; they were living there when another son and a daughter were born. James died aged sixty-one [Carmarthen 1976, 3rd qt] (the deaths of his sister and her husband were also registered in Carmarthen).

Only Morgan and Joan's youngest son, James D Owen ([b Ealing 1948, 1st qt], d ca. 2001), had children - two daughters and a son; I believe there are descendants living in Cyprus.
