Elisha Edwin Owen (1846 – 1932)
Elisha Edwin Owen was employed by the somewhat ill-fated Bishop's Castle Railway Company and for a while he was
stationmaster at Bishop's Castle. After his marriage to Harriet Wilding he took over the general store and post-office in
Wistanstow, almost certainly the one that previously had been run by his father-in-law. He and Harriet had a large family
but several of their children died in infancy. They lived out their days in Wistanstow.
