Thomas William Owen (1843 – 1923)
Thomas William Owen, Timothy's twin, born on 29 July 1843, studied mathematics and physics at Jesus College, Oxford. Like two of his brothers he went into the church and after ordination in 1872 was a curate in Northamptonshire. For seventeen years he was vicar of St. Nicholas, Leicester, of which he wrote a history. He was then vicar of St. Peter’s Parish Church, Empingham, Rutland, from 1892 until 1921.
Thomas's first wife and daughter died of TB and twenty years later he married his then housekeeper, Annie Holmes. In retirement they moved back to the Owen family home in High Street, Llanidloes, where Thomas died on 13 June 1923.
